A Doula’s Commitment to Your Birth

As doulas, our job is to fully commit to supporting you throughout your pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum period. At Flourish Family Doulas, our doula support can look like so many wonderful things. We are here to offer you a listening ear from a trained professional who provides evidence based information about birth. We are here to be your physical support, your friend, and your encouragement.

Our birth and postpartum doulas help empower you to make your own decisions regarding your birth. Whatever you need, we are here to listen and guide you into an experience that will leave you feeling empowered and whole, from the inside out.

Facing the Unknown

When it comes to birth, there are a lot of unknowns. Facing those feelings of uncertainty and making hard decisions alone is something no one should have to do. As Springfield Doulas, our commitment to you is to be the sounding board every birthing person deserves.

You might…

  • Have questions about home birth vs hospital birth

  • Have questions about postpartum and how that fourth trimester may affect you

  • Wonder how breastfeeding works

  • Want to have a VBAC

No matter your situation, or your questions, we are here

At Flourish Family Doulas, our goal is to leave you feeling like you have a whole community supporting you through your life changing experience, which is why we are passionate about the village mentality.

We know that pregnancy and parenthood can bring you to the end of yourself, help you find yourself again, or leave you feeling confused. For us, there is nothing off the table when it comes to conversations and topics that we can discuss. We are committed to bringing you evidence based information so you can feel empowered to be as present as you can be!

We are here to serve you.

Your Committed Birth Guide

During labor and delivery, our commitment to you is unmatched. We hold the unique capability of reading you, reading the room, reading your birth situation and evaluating your direct needs.

You may need a doula to hold space for those deep and raw emotions that labor ushers you into. You may need a doula to guide you through the practicals of labor and delivery. Having a doula looks like guiding you through position changes to assist in moving labor along. It can look like particular movements to help baby get into an ideal position. It can also look like physical comfort measures. For example; hip squeezes, rebozo technique, gentle touch/massage, visualizations, and guided imagery.

Your doula is there to remind you of your strength, what you are capable of, and to remind you of what your body can do. Need a bath run? We are there. Need assistance moving through the miles circuit? We are there. Need a space and person to ground yourself and your emotions to? We are there for you!

At Flourish Family Doulas Springfield, MO, we are fully committed to seeing our patients thrive, feel fully loved and accepted for who you are, and what you bring, and to support you in some of your most difficult, joyous, and life changing moments.
