Birth Doula Services

Birth matters.

The way you feel, and are made to feel, during labor and delivery will stay with you for the rest of your life!

At Flourish Family Doulas, we believe in your ability to birth your baby - the way you choose!

We work closely with our clients to ensure they are educated and informed before they ever feel their first contraction.

  • Our initial consultation is free and your opportunity to consult with an expert about the birth of your baby. During this time, we will discuss what you want your birth support to look like and how we at Flourish Family Doulas can help you make that a reality. We will talk about which doula may be a good fit for you and set up a visit with the doula, you think you would be best paired with.

  • At your prenatal visits we will explore what your birth wishes and philosophies are, and what the options are for comfort laboring at home and at your place of birth. You and your partner will have the opportunity to discuss your thoughts and feelings as you make decisions and we discuss options to help eliminate surprises. We will also go over postpartum and how to heal and bond with baby

  • This is the moment we have been planning and preparing for and your doula will be walking through it all with you. This is a life-changing experience and intimate time that we at Flourish Family Doulas want to honor. Your doula will be present with you at your birth location providing continuous support:

Offering comforting touch to enable relaxation

Reminding you of mindful breathing to ease the sensations

Affirming you through the challenges, and helping you remain calm

Offering a variety of positional changes to enable the progression of labor

  • Being at home with your new little one is a very exciting time. During this period, you are learning about your baby and what is it to be a parent. You may have questions or need some resources, your doula will bring their wisdom, knowledge, and unbiased understanding to your home for your postpartum follow-up visit.

  • Great for those that have experienced labor previously and don’t desire as much prenatal education.

  • This is a great option for those in need of a doula, but don’t currently have one lined up.

Last minute doula services are not a replacement for full service, traditional labor support, but is a good option for last minute care.

The last minute doula service is a good option when there isn’t a full service doula available, if you had a friend or relative planning to support and they no longer can, if you are already in labor and decide you would like support or you just moved into the area and you still want birth support.

The doula available at the time your labor starts will just come to the birth and support you for the entire birth and for about 2 hours after.

There is no postpartum care with this plan, just the birth!

  • Do you wish you had a doula in your pocket? Well, we have that for you. This service will allow you to have doula support while you are living life and have questions come up.

Support can look like: prenatal education, explaining test and procedures during your prenatal care, referrals, encouragement on tough days, normal postpartum healing information, baby care information, feeding assistance, sleep encouragement, baby wearing advice, help with adjusting to new baby for pets or other siblings, going back to work, finding resources in your area, finding a new normal with work, school and so much more. You will be matched with a doula that is fully qualified and has the skills that you need and a style you enjoy.

Services start from when you book till 1 week postpartum.
Monday-Friday 8am-6pm with a 4 hour window for response (it is often much faster), and within 24 hours during off hours. Talk and text is not a replacement for a medical provider, and is only to be used for non-medical, normal pregnancy, postpartum and well baby questions. If in doubt your doula will refer you to your medical provider.

This plan does not include labor support, or physical interaction. Support is only virtual and non-emergent/urgent in nature.

  • Do you wish you had a doula in your pocket? Well, we have that for you. This service will allow you to have doula support while you are living life and have the questions come up.

This virtual birth support can be an add on to the talk and text support or stand alone. You will need to let your virtual doula know that you have started early labor and then as things pick up and you want advice on positions or distraction, you can send your doula a text and ask questions or get on a short (30 minute) call. This is not for continuous birth support virtually. If you are wanting your doula continuously, then you would want the on all doula support option. Your doula will support you on and off during the night or day, but it could take an hour or so to get a response. If you do not let your doula know that you are in early labor, they may not be aware they need to be checking their phone during the night or weekend, so be in touch with your doula.

Why Have a Birth Doula?

Birth Education

Prenatal Education

Birth Doula Team

Labor & Delivery Support

  • Our doulas schedule around your birth and are officially on call for you at 38 weeks! Which means she will be at the ready when you start labor!

  • Our doulas will stay with you throughout your labor and delivery, providing comfort measures to both parents. She will remind you of your birth plan, hold space for you, educate you on your rights and options, and use coping techniques to help you meet your goals.

Postpartum Check ins

  • Your doula will stay long enough to help you navigate the first latch with baby. All of our doulas are trained in breastfeeding support.

  • 1-2 follow up visits in your home. Your doula will debrief your birth experience with you and provide any needed resources or referrals
